Job Responsibilities:
Formulate and implement a robust data management strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring effective data lifecycle management.
Oversee the establishment and enforcement of data management policies and procedures to maintain data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
Lead the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, defining standards, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with technology and business teams to design end-to-end data and technical architectures.
Design and implement data controls to ensure process effectiveness, define metrics, and devise corrective action plans when necessary.
Identify data risks and issues, collaborating with stakeholders to formulate mitigation and risk management strategies.
Drive the implementation of data confidentiality classification, personal information protection methods, and data retention policies.
Conduct data profiling to identify critical elements, establish quality rules, investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolutions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related matters, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Deep understanding of data governance, data science, data engineering, data quality, and data security best practices.
Proven ability to independently tackle design and functionality challenges.
Experience managing metadata and data management constructs, including business glossaries and technical data dictionaries.
Familiarity with GDPR and other data protection and privacy regulations applicable to the UK and EU.
Strong influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Exceptional planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, adept at tailoring communication to different audiences.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in SQL is a significant plus.
